Join the community for the 10th Annual Empty Bowls Fundraiser, a movement to fight hunger in Gig Harbor. Altrusa of Gig Harbor produces the event, bringing together generous community corporate sponsors, local artisans, generous restaurants, and community residents for one cause.
Guests are invited to buy a handmade bowl from local potters and join in for a soup and bread meal. Every bowl reminds us of our community’s empty bowls and helping to feed those in need in our community.
Attendees can expect to enjoy a variety of soups made by local restaurants. ‘“We’re preparing to surpass last year’s numbers, and we encourage the public to attend,” says Altrusa President Nancy Hohenstein, adding that each bowl offers “a simple meal of soup and bread to remind us of how fortunate we are and how some right here in our community are not.”
Bowls start at $10, and each purchase includes up to two servings of soup with fresh bread. For more details or to contribute, visit AltrusaGigHarbor.org or email altrusapresidentgigharbor@gmail.com.
