Table 47, a new locally owned restaurant with a focus on community and environmental sustainability, is coming to Gig Harbor in November 2017.
As the name suggests, Table 47 is designed to be a comfortable social gathering place where people can connect over delicious food, and is located along the 47th parallel in the heart of the South Sound. The fresh-from-scratch restaurant will feature a variety of dishes ranging from familiar classics to flavor inspirations from around the world, with a focus on responsibly sourced ingredients.
Table 47 is owned by long-time Gig Harbor resident Troy Alstead, the former chief operating officer of Starbucks.
“From my years of traveling the globe, I have always been struck by the common impact food and mealtime gatherings have in connecting people,” Alstead said. “I am excited to create a space for the South Sound community where people can relax, escape their daily routine and connect through great food and shared meals.”
Driven by his passion for the environment and oceans, Alstead is now working with his newly appointed culinary team to create a menu that features responsibly and locally sourced ingredients.
Table 47’s Executive Chef, Ian Wingate, has 27 years of northwest restaurant experience. “My ultimate goal is connecting with people and searching for the best ingredients. I’m excited to be a part of a team and partner with people with the same philosophies,” says Wingate. “We’re not defining our cuisine. We’re letting our local surroundings, sustainably sourced ingredients and seasonality influence our menu. We’ll offer a variety of dishes and flavors, and our food will all be made free from artificial ingredients or preservatives. ”
From date nights to social time with friends and large family gatherings, Table 47 is designed to accommodate groups big and small. The restaurant can host more than 200 guests inside the dining room, casual coffee café and bar, plus an additional 100 outside on a seasonal, heated patio. The open kitchen will be a vibrant backdrop to the intimate chef’s counter where chef showcase dinners and other special events will be held. The large
private dining space and event rooms are perfect for parties of all sizes, from birthday parties to wedding receptions.
The restaurant opening is anticipated to create an estimated 200 local jobs and is now hiring for all positions. Table 47 is seeking people who enjoy working with a team and have a passion for food and sustainability. For more information on job opportunities go to: T47.com/jobs.
