A Wedding Giveaway Awaits. By Jillian Chandler.

Engaged?

It’s one of the most important days in a couple’s life—the day they commit to love, honor and cherish each other for the rest of their days; the moment they unite themselves to become one. This meaningful day, complete with ceremony and reception, brings family and friends together from near and far to celebrate the happy couple and wish them well on their journey of marriage.

What if you could have the wedding of your dreams … for free?

Bliss Manor Farm is a breathtaking new venue in Gig Harbor. Sitting on 22 acres on the Key Peninsula, the property is home to a gorgeous Christmas tree farm and offers views of the Olympic Mountains and Rocky Bay.

This October, Bliss Manor Farm will be participating in the Key Peninsula Farm Tour October 5 and 6. Owner Michelle Humphreys envisioned decorating the barn as if a wedding was going to take place so that people who came on the tour would be able to easily visualize the space as a beautiful location for a special occasion.

“Since we were going to the trouble of paying for and setting up, I thought it would be wasteful for no wedding to actually happen!” recalls Michelle. “I brought up the idea of a sort of a lottery—send in your story and photos and win a wedding! My husband, Bob, agreed that it was a great idea, so we decided to hold a wedding giveaway.”

To enter to win is simple. Like Bliss Manor Farm’s Facebook page; follow Gig Harbor Living Local and 253 Lifestyle Magazine on Facebook and Instagram; tag two friends in the comments; and email a photo and a short story as to why you would like to win this wedding to weddinggiveaway@like-media.com.

One lucky couple will be chosen the winner on September 6 (the deadline for submissions is September 5), with a wedding package to include: an inside barn venue decorated for the wedding including lighting, tables, chairs and a bar; setup for 50 people; officiant services; photos by Full Stop Photography, who will be giving the winning couple the digital files; flowers; cake and champagne for 50; a 60-minute couples massage and foot soak courtesy of Blue Moon Massage and Spa; and a one-night stay at Wesley Inn and Suites. Please note that additional fees will apply for reception services.

In addition to the large barn, with its heated floors and gorgeous paneled walls (which can accommodate up to 150 people), there is an expansive party deck/swing area. The deck can comfortably cater to 75 to 100 patrons and offers two gazebos and views of several ponds and exquisite landscaping. Michelle says they are in the process of constructing a 10-foot metal gazebo adorned with floral decoration that will sit over one of the ponds, with amphitheatre seating for 75 guests.

When it comes to what Michelle finds most rewarding about creating that unforgettable, one-of-a-kind experience for her clients, she says, “Both Bob and I spent our careers in an office, and we are thrilled to be able to enjoy what has been a life-long passion of ours—hosting and entertaining. Whether it be someone’s birthday or a bridal couple, we are truly honored to take part in someone’s special day.”
