Trish Huff of Morso Bistro Gives Back in Gig Harbor

By Paige Schulte

Realtor + Community

Trish Huff, owner of Morso Bistro and Market in Gig Harbor, brings more than just expertly crafted dishes and exceptional wines to her community. With degrees in Restaurant and Hotel Management and Culinary Arts and over 15 years in the wine industry, Trish is dedicated to hospitality, quality, and community service. Inspired to create a gathering space for good food and wine, Trish and her husband Devin opened Morso Bistro and Market in January 2020, combining her passions for cooking, wine, and hospitality.

Morso Bistro is more than a restaurant—it’s a welcoming space with breathtaking views of Puget Sound and the Cascade Mountains. Open for lunch, happy hour, and dinner, the bistro features New American and Italian cuisine crafted from locally sourced ingredients, with options for small plates, bites, and entrées. Trish envisioned Morso as a vibrant and inclusive gathering place where locals and visitors feel at home.

Trish’s community leadership is especially evident in her support for veterans and first responders. Leslie Mayne, founder of the Permission to Start Dreaming Foundation, notes, “Trish Huff has never wavered in her support for veterans and first responders.” Her role in the foundation has been instrumental; from volunteering at the inaugural prayer breakfast to serving as a board member and Director of Operations for the Warrior PATHH program, a healing initiative for veterans, Trish’s contributions have brought comfort and care to many. Her meals have become a source of nourishment and healing, embodying her compassion and dedication to helping others.

Beyond her involvement with the foundation, Trish has cultivated Morso as a philanthropic business, partnering with local artisans and makers, including 7 Seas Brewing, Wet Coast Brewing Company, Gretchen Giese Artworks, Gig Harbor Candy Company, and Island Coffee Company, which roasts Morso’s own private blend. Through donations, partnerships, and community engagement, Morso remains deeply connected to Gig Harbor, giving back in every way possible.

Trish Huff’s dedication and compassion extend beyond her customers; she is known for the genuine care and mentorship she offers her employees and her insistence on maintaining the highest standards. Her passion and servant’s heart have not only made Morso a thriving establishment but have cemented her role as a community leader. Trish’s journey from wine industry professional to beloved bistro owner is a testament to her commitment to excellence and her love for Gig Harbor. Through Morso, Trish and Devin have created a warm, welcoming space where every meal is a celebration, every visitor is a friend, and the heart of the community is always close by.
