South Puget Sound’s community resource
By Jillian Chandler
“It has been so rewarding to help so many of our customers!”
Sisters and business partners Lisa Tompkins and Gina Erni introduced Bright Day CBD to the South Puget Sound in June 2018. The brick-and-mortar shop provides customers—and their pets—with high-quality hemp-derived products for those looking for a more natural approach paired with education on the products offered.
When you walk through the doors at Bright Day CBD, customers will experience a comfortable environment and a knowledgeable team to help find the right CBD product for their particular needs, including a broad range of tinctures, oils, capsules, topicals, spa products, and edibles, as well as oils and treats for dogs and cats.
Bright Day CBD is unique in that a big part of what they do is share information and educate each customer on the products they sell, including the subtle differences between full spectrum, broad spectrum and isolate; milligrams per bottle/per dropper; and how each individual is their own testing ground when it comes to figuring out the right amount of CBD for them. “We enjoy spending one-on-one time with each customer,” shares Lisa. “We see ourselves as the community resource.”
In addition to helping people figure out which products might work best for them, the sisters find it rewarding when customers return for more product and share their personal stories about their results. “I have heard stories from customers whose lives have literally been changed, both physically and mentally,” smiles Lisa.
The two were inspired to start their venture after seeing first-hand the struggles of a family member dealing with multiple autoimmune diseases and the positive effects and benefits of high CBD/low THC products—those taken both internally as well as topically—from marijuana dispensaries. “We had heard that CBD from hemp was eventually going to become legal and knew that when it did, we would want to be a part of that in some capacity,” recalls Lisa. “Opening a retail store was the direction we chose—and it was a great choice! It has been extremely rewarding to help so many of our customers!”
Lisa and Gina have deep roots in the local community. Military brats, the sisters, along with their parents, moved to Bremerton when their father retired after serving 20 years in the Marine Corp. (Bremerton is also where their parents met back in 1955.) Lisa and her husband moved to Gig Harbor in 1987, and their kids attended preschool in Tacoma “many years ago,” Lisa says. “I have always felt a connection with Tacoma.” As for Gina, she and her husband, who is retired Air Force, moved to Lakewood in 2005 and truly love their community and being part of the broader Tacoma area.
“We are grateful for the networking with other local businesses, medical professionals including physicians, naturopaths, chiropractors and physical therapists, and so many others that have embraced and welcomed us into the community,” Lisa shares.
In addition to assisting their Bright Day customers find relief from a variety of health conditions, Lisa and Gina are proud to support the Children’s Miracle Network, and they appreciate the fact that their contributions stay in the local community to help children in need.
If you are seeking a natural alternative to help aid in your current ailments, they invite you to stop in their store 9am to 5pm Wednesday through Saturday, or shop products online on their website, BrightDayCBD.com, and have them delivered straight to your door.
