Warm tones and fresh ideas

A large part of the real estate world is the fun part! We LOVE design and the ever-changing trends that come and go. We met with a few of our favorite designers here in Gig Harbor and got their opinions on design do’s and don’ts. Follow along for some tips and tricks to bring your house current for 2025!
The biggest design trend we are seeing for 2025 is from cool tones to warm tones. We have been surrounded by white kitchens and grey tones for a while now, and this is a big shift to a warm and wood ambiance. We love this change, especially with our grey winter months here in the PNW. It's time to warm it up.
Here are some of the other significant shifts for 2025:
Wood tone cabinets
Mix and match furniture sets
Beverage centers | bar
PLANTS
Wallpaper
The year's color has been disclosed, and it truly aligns with these warmer trends…
CINNAMON SLATE 2113-40
We have found, rather than going all in with the year's color, an inexpensive way to freshen up your home is to find accent pieces in this hue that will warm up the space but not chill out the pocketbook.
As we continue to warm up spaces with these new wood tones and warmer paint colors, item number 4 on our list is plants. The Association of REALTORS released a study showing that plants are great ways to warm up an area and help keep the air inside your home clean! Studies show a plant for every 100 square feet (for example, 30 plants for a 3,000 sqft home). Some of the best air-purifying plants that also thrive in our climate are:
Snake plants
Jade
Fig’s
Ferns
Schefflera (umbrella plant)
Suppose you are doing design or remodel work to prep your home for sale. In that case, several companies now offer Concierge or design studios as part of their pre-listing prep. Be sure you’re partnering with someone who knows their stuff and has your pocketbook in mind, as well as the profitability of each project.
