Seasonal Fun in Support of Local Businesses: Girls Night Out

Girls Night Out

One-of-a-kind events can be found along the downtown waterfront By Jillian Chandler| Courtesy Downtown Waterfront Alliance Gig Harbor ‘Tis the season for holiday excitement, as wonderful seasonal community events return to brighten the spirits of the local community, as well as visitors who come to visit this special place we call home.

Girls Night Out returns Thursday, November 9. This is your chance to grab a friend and kick off the holiday season by shopping and dining along Gig Harbor’s picturesque waterfront. Presented by the Downtown Waterfront Alliance, this is one of their most popular events!

From 10am to 9pm, it’s time to explore all the wonderful shops, restaurants and businesses right here in the heart of Gig Harbor. “It’s a great way to kick off the holiday shopping season and shop local,” smiles Carrianne Ekberg, executive director of the Downtown Waterfront Alliance.

In addition to all the shopping to be had, the day will include fun selfie stops, live music at select locations, and a whole lot more!

Event tickets (priced $30 each) are in the form of event bags and are on sale now. For more details and to purchase your event ticket today, email specialprojects@ghdwa.org or visit GHDWA.org/girls-night-out.

The Downtown Waterfront Alliance is also excited to announce a new holiday event—There’s Gnome Place Like Home. Partnering with Stitch-O-Roo and Heritage Distilling, this family friendly gnome hunt in businesses along the waterfront is free to participate and allows those young and old to “hunt” for gnomes throughout downtown businesses and complete a passport.

“The hunt will happen December 1 through 31, and once complete, participants will be able to turn in their completed passport for a chance to win a gift basket!” Carrianne notes.

Additional details will be released closer to the event via the Alliance’s website, newsletter and social media.

Cheers to the holiday season in Gig Harbor, and all the fun that accompanies it!
