Explore the flavors of the harbor By Jillian Chandler
The Gig Harbor Downtown Waterfront Alliance and The Rotary Club of Gig Harbor present Gig Harbor’s Winter Sip & Stroll, happening Saturday, February 12. From noon to 4pm, participants can stroll through the downtown waterfront and stop at participating businesses, where they’ll find an array of libations for sipping and small bites for tasting. This popular tasting event returns to the delight of many, after being canceled in 2021.
This tour along the waterfront allows ticket holders (must be 21 or older) to sample Northwest wines, brews, spirits and cider, alongside tasty small bites, at more than 20 businesses called “Stroll Stops.” And there’s no need to worry about inclement weather, as the Downtown Waterfront Alliance will once again provide complimentary transportation throughout the waterfront, making it that much easier to visit all of the Stroll Stops.
Tickets usually sell out in advance, so get yours today! Ticket price, which is $35 now through February 6, increases to $40 February 7 through 11 (if tickets are still available). In the case that there are still tickets available the day of the event, they can be purchased online for $45. Ticket price includes a tasting glass, a map of the Stroll Stop locations and vendors, and 15 sip tickets for alcohol. If you would like to purchase your ticket, you can find the event online at GigHarborWaterfront.org, or search the event directly on EventBrite.com.
There will be additional sip tickets available for a small fee at the registration desk at the check-in location, which can be found at 3110 Judson Street (at the former 7 Seas Brewing location).
Don’t forget to shop the popular wine store, which can also be found at the check-in location, which opens just before noon and remains open until 5pm.
